Call Me When You Have The Courage

These messages have been all over the gossip blogs so its not really knew but this is just too awesome. Apparently this guy approached a woman in the street and she gave him her business card and these are the messages he left on her machine. I could only hope that I end up with a guy as amazing as this. It's just so amazing. And sweet. I wish I could just meet this guy so I could punch him in the fucking face. The video montage going on in the background might be the best part.

This Is Bat Country

Gonzo: The Life and Works of Hunter S. Thompson (or something like that I don't know if that's the exact title and I don't feel like looking it up) comes out July 4 and I think it would be really patriotic to take some LSD and go see it. Plus its narrated by J. Depp (obvi) AND features my hunky boss Jann Wenner who can smell a cinnabon from a mile away and will wish you a happy birthday if you let him have one. True story!

Honey, You Should Know

I just bought tickets to see Coldplay at the Izod Center on October 27. I really wanted to see them this summer at Wachovia Spectrum but the seats were twice as expensive and twice as shitty. I just wish I was seeing them this summer because I love summer shows and also because I want it now. Whatever though I don't even care because I seriously just love Coldplay so much and they make me cry. Also I really can't miss the opportunity to hear Lost live.

P.S. WORST NEWS EVER:
According to the New York Post, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin told an audience at London's Opera House that he'll no longer perform 'Green Eyes' because it's not about Gwyneth Paltrow. "The reason we don't play it is it's not about the right person," Martin told the audience the other day. "It's like an old pair of trousers, that song. It doesn't fit."

Fuck you Chris Martin. Can you just please play it one time for me?

Cracko Does Jacko

I don't have any idea when this video was from and I don't really care. I would imagine its not all that recent since I'm pretty sure Amy Winehouse is barely even capable of standing upright nowadays let alone anything, but here's a duet she did with Charlotte Church of Michael Jackson's Beat It. It's every bit as awful as you can imagine. It's like Wino doesn't even know what words are. So fucking tragic. Get off the crack wagon!

Volume One

In the downtime of waiting for our favorite shows to come back on TV my friends and I started watching Heroes at my request (they'd already seen both seasons but I insisted we should rewatch). Television and I have a strange relationship. If I don't watch something when it airs, and then people tell me that it's really really good, I all of a sudden NEVER want to watch that show. I was that way with LOST too and look how that turned out. Anyway more importantly I have opened my heart to Heroes and need to watch both seasons before September when Volume Three premieres.

Last night we finished Volume One. Heroes is very similar to LOST in its storyline sense where all the characters, though introduced separately and having no knowledge of it, are actually all interconnected to each other and in that same way makes it difficult to determine who is "good" and who is "bad". Heroes, however, actually does a much better job of blurring that line. The characters are all incredibly likable. Their plights are something I could totally buy into from every angle. Just when you think you really hate someone, or when you've finally figured out that they're a villain, they show you a side of that character that completely alters your perception of them. The only character I really hated was Sylar, and they even managed to show a side of him that (almost) made me compassionate.

Overall a really great story line. Totes excited to start Volume Two!

Do Not Want

It's the original LOLcats. I don't even know what this shirt means and it's not even that funny but I don't even know why there would be clothing that has anything to do with Delaware in Japan. Anyway check out the site, there are way funnier things on there.

Neiighhh

I love seahorses, and I love Betsey Johnson so I really need to have this bracelet.

She has a whole really cute nautical themed set of jewelry like clam shell necklaces and sand dollars and all that fun stuff. There's also some really interesting Navajo jewelry like this snake necklace (also a must-have, I LOVE snakes):

Pretty much some cute and eccentric summer-themed accessories to get you in the mood for the beach and scorching summer temperatures. Totes into it!

Where Are They Now?

One of the things that bothers me about Project Runway is that pretty much after the show is over you never hear anything about the winners actually accomplishing anything. Christian gets a little bit more press because of his sassy attitude and since Posh loves him, but even successful contestants you don't hear much about. Jeffrey sells his clothes at major LA boutiques, Austin is a creative director for a bridal line and one time I ran into that hunky Spartan Kevin in the streets after work. But the real question is, what ever happened to Jay McCarroll?

Today I was shopping on Fred Flare when I found this.

It's the Jay McCarroll bowling bag. I don't know about this. It's $60 and it kind of looks like crap. Jay is by far my favorite PR winner and I really felt like he had the ability to take his talent far. His creations were all beautiful, quirky and totally wearable. This bag- not so much.

I tried to see if the site was selling any other of his designs but it seems like just a fluke being the only McCarroll item sold there. Nobody else seems to carry any of this stuff either. I looked to see if he had any kind of site with his designs and found out something interesting - Jay turned down the $100,000 prize that Project Runway offers because it meant 10% of his brand would be forever owned by the Weinstein Company. That would explain why he's done nothing of significance selling shit looking bags on Fred Flare I guess.

Freaks And Geeks

Cosplay and all of its variable forms is a bizarre but interesting thing. They're kind of like a car crash. You feel guilty for wanting to watch people put on this freak show but you can't look away either. I had to actually do some research to find out where this clip was taken from, and apparently it was at "Anime Central 2008". I didn't really realize that Silent Hill was considered anime but apparently it was made into a manga or some shit. Who really cares. More importantly, someone (or two people actually) decided to dress up as Siam from Silent Hill.

I think we all know who the real star of this video is- Morrigan!!! Holy shit I had completely forgot about Darkstalkers until this moment right now. Morrigan is the shit though. That girl is the shit. I want to hang out with her. I'd even dress up like Felicia!

Just for reference, here's a drawing of what Siam really looks like:

They actually did a pretty sick job. Thanks to Sean for passing this along.

I Used To Rule The World

I love Coldplay. I really, really do. The first time that I saw the video for "Yellow" will forever stand out in my mind. Parachutes is definitely in my top 10 albums. So many of their songs have serious emotional significance to me that it can bring me to tears. Obviously I am really excited about the release of Viva La Vida, but I was even more excited because the few songs I have heard have just really sounded like they are getting back to the roots of Coldplay and away from the XY shit (not that it wasn't good- just not Coldplay good). Not only are they great recording artists but they are amazing live and I can't wait for them to book their US tour. At the MTV Movie Awards Sunday they played the title track live for the very first time. Enjoy:
