Au Revior

The French Connection next to my work is closing down and its totally a tragedy since I spent half my breaks there but on the bright side I was able to get some awesome clothes for super cheap.

I have been crying about how I never bought a leather jacket in the fall so I was so excited to be able to get this super cute one:

I also have been wanting to get this dress for a while so yay for that.

I also got a really cute black and white summer dress but I can't find an image of it online aaand purple leggings. Plus I got some presents for my sexy boyfriend! (:

Herve Bebe

One of my favorite current celeb trends is the Herve Leger bandage dresses that everybody is wearing. They are so flattering, the colors are bold and they're just fun. Unfortunately I don't really have 1200$+ to spend on a dress right now so I was pretty bummed that I wouldn't be getting one anytime soon.

Happily though, bebe makes a pretty damn good imitation (and for 98$ how can you argue?). It's obviously not as nice or as quality as the Leger ones but there is about 1000$ standing between them and it's still totally cute. They make a black and red, brown and purple and black and 24k gold (below). I really do like the black and yellow but I'm not sure if it looks too bumble bee-ish. I guess I'll have to go try them on and find out!

Ummmmmmmmmm

UMMMM. What the FUCK. Okay seriously, Marc Jacobs. I love you more than any man for real. You can do no wrong in my heart and I will continue to throw all my money at you. But you cannot EVER wear a fucking skirt again. Especially one that looks like you made it out of Cindy McCain's rejected campaign outfits and a bath towel. Jesus Christ its too early for this shit.

DPLV

Last night I saw the most ew commerical ever. It was for Lincoln, some new stupid Lincoln car that probably has like crazy cool navigation/music/voice activation features and shit but you know what its still a Lincoln. And for some reason they really thought it would be appropriate to use some semi remix of Technologic as the accompanying music. Come on man. I know it's like the worst Daft Punk song ever but it's still above a Lincoln commercial.

In other news, I haaaven't been able to ever stop listening to Daft Punk's Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2008 runway mix. My two favorite things ever? Hello? If you are an awesome musician you should be required to do a runway mix.

Justice also did one for Dior Homme Spring/Summer 2009. It doesn't even touch Daft, but did you expect it to?

NJ Pride

Ahh! I am absolutely obsessed with this Maya Brenner New Jersey necklace I found at Couture Candy. She makes a couple other states too (not too many) but obviously this is the best one. I kind of need it right now.

I Want Stuuuuff

The beginning of summer means sales which is the best ever so today I went shopping at French Connection and got a ton of really cute things for super cheap. If you live near a store you should definitely check it out, but the website is annoying and never has half the clothes they sell. More pressing though are the two Chanel items that I cannot find:

Rihanna's sunglasses and

La Lohan's tank.

Has anyone seen either of these in reality or know what their style names are?

Neiighhh

I love seahorses, and I love Betsey Johnson so I really need to have this bracelet.

She has a whole really cute nautical themed set of jewelry like clam shell necklaces and sand dollars and all that fun stuff. There's also some really interesting Navajo jewelry like this snake necklace (also a must-have, I LOVE snakes):

Pretty much some cute and eccentric summer-themed accessories to get you in the mood for the beach and scorching summer temperatures. Totes into it!

Where Are They Now?

One of the things that bothers me about Project Runway is that pretty much after the show is over you never hear anything about the winners actually accomplishing anything. Christian gets a little bit more press because of his sassy attitude and since Posh loves him, but even successful contestants you don't hear much about. Jeffrey sells his clothes at major LA boutiques, Austin is a creative director for a bridal line and one time I ran into that hunky Spartan Kevin in the streets after work. But the real question is, what ever happened to Jay McCarroll?

Today I was shopping on Fred Flare when I found this.

It's the Jay McCarroll bowling bag. I don't know about this. It's $60 and it kind of looks like crap. Jay is by far my favorite PR winner and I really felt like he had the ability to take his talent far. His creations were all beautiful, quirky and totally wearable. This bag- not so much.

I tried to see if the site was selling any other of his designs but it seems like just a fluke being the only McCarroll item sold there. Nobody else seems to carry any of this stuff either. I looked to see if he had any kind of site with his designs and found out something interesting - Jay turned down the $100,000 prize that Project Runway offers because it meant 10% of his brand would be forever owned by the Weinstein Company. That would explain why he's done nothing of significance selling shit looking bags on Fred Flare I guess.

Me-ow

Two things in life that I really love: cats and big huge pieces of jewelry. Apparently I am not the only one, so Cartier made one of the most phenomenal rings I've ever seen, aka a giant gold panther ring.

It's eyes are even peridot (my birthstone). To say I need it would be an understatement, so if anyone has a spare $8,225 and wants to really make my day.. I'm waiting.

Acid Yellow

Photobucket

While vacationing in Vegas I ventured (what a nice use of alliteration) into the Marc Jacobs store to check out the SS08 collection which was very dangerous because of the alcohol+credit card+shopping factor. HOWEVER. I am absolutely in love with his new bags. There were quite a few really disgusting ones that had frogs on them which I thought were both tacky and immature, but the general theme of the new bags were bright and neon colors. The above photo doesn't even do justice to how bright it is but I am obsessed. It is appropriately labeled "acid yellow" and is beautiful and completely neccessary. GIMME NOW! Please (:
